We are most fortunate to have an affiliated center so close to us run by Lama Gyamtso, a graduate of the traditional three year retreat under the guidance of Lama Norlha Rinpoche.
We will list their teaching and practice schedule here as it becomes available.
Here is the latest schedule update for Kagyu Trinley Kunchab:
Chod practice - Mon. June 28 at 7:00pm
Lama Palmo will lead the chanting of the Chod practice. We will
meet at the Drikung Kagyu Center located at: 15 Bartlett Ave.,
Arlington, MA 02476.
Tibetan Language classes - Thurs. July 8th and Thurs. July 22nd
Lama Palmo will be teaching several review classes on Tibetan
grammar. She will be using the Chod text as the basis. I wll
also be there if people want to practice their beginning language
skills. Classes will run about one and one half hours. We will
meet at the Drikung Kagyu Center located at: 15 Bartlett Ave.,
Arlington, MA 02476. Classes begin at 7pm. Cost: $10.00 per class.
Lama Jamdron teaching - Tues. July 27th at 7:30pm
Lama Jamdron, a long-time student of Lama Norlha Rinpoche will
be giving a teaching at Friends Cambridge Meeting House located
at 5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge, MA 02138. Dhana appreciated.
Lama Choepel teaching Thankga painting - Sat.-Sun. Sep. 18-19
Lama Choepel will be visiting the Boston area and we have asked
him to give a short course on thangka painting. More details
forthcoming.
Starting the first
Sunday in September, we will make a change to
the list of sadhanas we chant. What we will be putting into place
is:
Each month:
1st Sunday of the month: Chenrezig and Green Tara sadhanas
Each subsequent Sunday: Chenrezig and Guru Medicine Buddha sadhanas
Last Sunday of each month: Chenrezig and Six-armed Mahakala Sadhanas
Over the next several Sundays, I will be doing some teaching about the
music, offerings, and structure of the Mahakala practice. I have put
together a "lerim" for the practice (a description of where in the
text certain events occur.) It is STRONGLY recommended that if you
want to do this practice, you should get the empowerment for it.
Fortunately, Lama Norlha Rinpoche is giving the Six-armed Mahakala
empowerment at Kagyu Thubten Choling later this month.
This empowerment is not given very often, so if you would like to
receive this empowerment or if you have been considering getting it,
here is your chance. Below is a cut-and-paste of the announcement
from KTC for the empowerment.
